Oh the power of Instagram…
I started following The Home Edit and was inspired by the gorgeous, organized spaces they posted for celebrity clients. I, by nature, am not a very organized individual, most artists aren’t. BUT I do LOVE an organized space and want my home to be a more minimal, tidy one. SO, I bought a labeler and some organizers and got to work!
Here was my inspiration photo that The Home Edit posted on their Instagram page…oh so pretty huh?
Instead, my fridge generally looks like this…on a good day…not that inspiring or organized at all. This is what I call the “find a space and shove it in” method. Chaos.
The after is so refreshing to me. I’m going for an “everything has it’s place” method in the house, so the fridge gets organized the same. I left open shelving for whatever needs to fit in (as its always changing). I reorganized my pantry cabinets and ran out of label tape, otherwise I’ll go in and put labels on bins and drawers. I want anyone to come into the home and know where things go. I will say I spent about $100 at Bed Bath and Beyond buying organizing bins & turn tables. Overall we’re ALL so super excited about smaller changes like this. I’m so surprised at how my girls are reacting to the organizing. They’re in LOVE with it and can’t wait to show people our neat, tidy fridge and cabinets. I’ll have to do another blog about that too soon!
Are you minimizing, tidying or organizing? Have you organized your fridge? How has it held up throughout time? I’d love to hear all about it! Leave me comment below on your best tips or favorite people to follow etc! Keeping things in its place and minimizing is a great way to save money and stay organized…and I’m planning on doing that this year with consistency and determination (and a lot of Gods grace! lol!)
